An advantage the Coalition platform has over the Common App is that it offers two tools to help with your application: the Coalition Locker and Collaboration Space. We prefer that students have the option of including ten activities. The application you should use depends on your personal circumstances.
If you can avoid having to use both application portals, avoid it! It is not replacing the Common Application by any means. Your school counselor will be responsible for providing school reports, transcripts, and often a recommendation to each of the schools you apply to. However, if you appreciate the convenience of the locker tool, the Coalition Application might be the way to go. However, the two applications have different essay prompts, so you now have twice the number of essay prompts from which to choose. More than 140 colleges and universities use the Coalition Application. You can share the materials on the locker with your teachers and collaborate.
