I would blame this on the vibration. Just goes to show you don't need to know much to do this fix. Unplug washer or disconnect power. I've also noticed some ring cracks here and there and re-soldered them as well for good measure. If you have one apparently using an exacto knife you ought to be able to divide the problem.

Make sure your machine is level with all the feet on the floor. There was burning and arcing on the relay. My original issue was the fact that the pink connector socket was soldered partially and such was moving up and down. If yours is more than a couple of years old there are 2 mandatory things to do and this fixed my machine the first and second time over the years that the problem surfaced and in both cases for a couple of years.
