If more than one code is listed under the same brand, try entering one code at the same until you have searched the correct one that functions with your device. Use the ones in your manual. Thanks for suggestion to buy a Harmony 550. The 550 is very easy to use and my girlfriend and kids have had no problem using it once I had it all setup. Is it inuitive wife friendly to use? Seems kind of silly to have to resort to pressing Setup-0-0-2-4-6 just to turn the thing off. The problem with Yamaha is that they have two signals, one for turn on and on for turn off. Logitec has a very large database of devices and if for some reason the device you have is not in the database the Harmony remote has a learing function where you aim your old remote at it and follow the step by step onscreen directions. These receivers are capable of putting a new code in those remotes. Are you saying you don't have to do that for volume? My time Warner remote did the same type of thing, though it would power on the receiver just by selecting it on the top of the remote. You can map custom keys and all. Some of those threads go back a few years so this is not only a problem with the newer Yamaha receivers. Connection depends on the availability of audio jacks on your other components.
One amplifier is connected to the woofer section of a loudspeaker while the other is connected to the combined mid and tweeter section.
